Courtney and I had entertained thoughts of going to the Farmers Market in San Francisco today, but decided to stay in the East Bay. We walked through UC Berkeley and went to the Farmer's Market in downtown Berkeley and bought some lettuce, plums and other stuff. We walked around the gourmet ghetto and finally decided to follow through on an idea.
Several times since we've lived here, we've talked about going to the Cheese Board Collective, grabbing a pizza and eating in the median in Shattuck. It's pretty much a rite of passage when you're in Berkeley. We finally got around to hitting up Cheeseboard today. They have one pizza each day, which is generally vegetarian. $20 for a whole pizza. $10 for a half. Today's pizza was tomato, shallot, onion, mozzarella and thyme. So we waited in line. Snagged half a pizza and ate it in traffic, while a life band played music that wafted out into the street. Awesome weather. Awesome ambiance. Photos below.
