The more I read about this $700 billion "bailout," and the speed with which the Bush administration wants Congress to act, I can't help but feel like I'm being hustled. I mean, really, what's the difference between asking for $700 billion with scant details about how it's going to affect taxpayers and a guy trying to sell you a timeshare in Palm Springs? When Henry Paulson and Ben Bernanke appeared before Congress and offered scant details for why they should be given $700 billion, I was waiting for one of them to end a sentence with, "no, but I did stay in a Holiday Inn Express last night."
