Walking In Wuhan

We celebrated our first fourth of July in California with a few friends and headed down to the Marina to watch the fireworks. As you've probably seen, Northern California is on fire, so officials were begging people to not shoot off their own -- which are illegal and strictly enforced -- and to watch the big fireworks extravaganza on the Bay. It seems like a great idea. Skyline, Golden Gate Bridge and Alcatraz providing the backdrop for a show that blow the roof off this biz. So as we're heading down to the water, we hear a few explosions. This goes on for another five minutes or so. We still don't see anything. Apparently oppressive fog and fireworks shows don't mix. On the news they'd said fog was likely, but organizers would adjust the height of the fireworks for optimum viewage. After listening to explosions for 10 minutes and seeing a firework or two, we packed it in. I can't believe we ceded from the British for that.
