Bill Walsh died today at age 75 after a bout with cancer. He'll be remembered as one of the great masterminds of football, basically developing the West Coast offense and spreading it through a vast network of NFL and college coaches, including Nebraska's Bill Callahan.
When Callahan got hired at Nebraska in 2004 we'd debated about doing a story about what exactly the West Coast offense actually was and how it had spread through football. Click on the link below and check out the flowchart of Walsh's influence. Pretty interesting.
